Rachel has been playing drums since age 12 and has had a passion for music for her entire life. She moved to Chester in 2010 to study Popular Music Performance where she focused her studies on session musicianship, gaining proficiency in playing all genres ranging from pop to metal to jazz. Her time at university was also spent studying learning techniques and music education and the history of drums. Upon graduating, Rachel was offered a teaching position where she entered students for Rock School examinations with a 100% pass rate of merit or above. From here, she has taught extensively, tailoring each lesson to each individuals requirements.
Alongside teaching, Rachel is also in an originals band which have toured the country extensively. Since signing to Alcopop! Records in 2017, they have received critical acclaim from Kerrang! Magazine, NME, Rolling Stone (Germany) and Total Guitar. Since forming in 2014, they have also been played on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6, Radio X and have regular airplay on BBC Radio Wales. They have so far released 2 EP’s and 4 singles, both physically on vinyl, CD and cassette tape, and digitally which is currently available worldwide. The band have also recently signed with management, publishers and booking agent, and are currently recording their debut album to release early 2019. Rachel has a great deal to offer young people in terms of her experience, musicianship and her enthusiasm for music.
