Daniel Bachelard

Danny has been teaching the Drum Set since 2002, beginning with teaching children, adults and those with learning difficulties at the Hockley Music Academy, Nottingham. Whilst there, he enjoyed the expert tuition of Jim Chapin and Malcolm Garrett and gained experience of hosting their master classes, clinics and workshops, as well as those of other artists including Dom Famularo and James Taylor. Having completed the Trinity Guildhall Grade 8 practical exam, a Recital in Performance with the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and an Access to Jazz Studies course with New College Nottingham, Danny entered higher education and graduated from the University of Salford in 2009 with a BA (Hons) in Music. Whilst at Salford, he focussed on the study of jazz and latin music, received expert tuition from the University’s highly-regarded resident drum tutor, Dave Hassell, and held for two years the coveted position of Drum Set in the University’s big band.

Since 2006, Danny has been teaching Drum Set in schools in the North-West, from primary through to secondary and A-level pupils. He greatly enjoys teaching in schools and being involved in extra-curricular music activities such as ‘School of Rock’, Samba bands and school performances; he is, therefore, delighted to be a part of the team at Music For Life. Danny also has a variety of performance experience, including rock bands, musicals, big bands and smaller jazz/latin bands and he has enjoyed recording experiences with a number of bands and artists over the years.

We are delighted to welcome Danny to our team of teachers and hope that you will be really happy with his tuition.
