Jo began her musical training at the Royal Northern College of Music studying saxophone, clarinet and flute. During her time there she performed with many established artists such as Stan Sulzmann, Bob Mintzer, Andy Sheppard, Victor Mendoza and Steve Waterman and was awarded the prestigious prize for Jazz Improvisation. Before her time at college, Jo was a member of the Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Lancashire Youth Jazz Orchestra, touring and performing with musicians such as Bobby Shew and Alan Barnes. She was also a featured soloist at the Royal Albert Hall, London as a finalist at the National Festival of Music for Youth. Jo has had extensive playing experience with a wide variety of ensembles, regularly performing throughout the North West. She has taught both privately and in schools for the past five years.
