Emma Morley BSc (Hons)

Emma trained as a research scientist, and holds a PhD in molecular biology.  However, she has pursued a parallel career in music, following the birth of her two children, James and Ellie.  Emma is an experienced piano tutor and accompanist, and loves the combined challenge of encouraging beginners and tutoring more advanced pupils.  Emma thoroughly enjoys her work in schools, both with individual pupils and with whole class groups.  Emma is an accomplished flautist and has performed in many festivals and concerts. Her main musical interest is singing. Emma is in great demand both as a soloist and as a chamber performer.  Recent performances have included the soprano solo in Rutter’s Requiem, Fauré’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah and Utrecht Jubilate, Bach’s Magnificat, Chilcott Requiem and Haydn’s Missa Sancti Nicolai. Emma has sung in a number of BBC broadcasts and has performed in Canterbury, Salisbury, Chester, Lichfield and Coventry Cathedrals and York Minster.  At present she is working towards a performance diploma in singing.
