Andrea began playing the piano at the age of six, and was awarded a bursary to study at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester in 1995. In 2001, Andrea was awarded a scholarship to continue her education at the prestigious Royal Northern College of Music, where she studied under renowned pianists Martin Roscoe and Norma Fisher. Andrea has given recitals in various parts of the country as a soloist as well as a chamber musician, including a lunchtime concert at the Bridgewater Hall during Piano 2000. In October 2001, she made her concerto debut, playing Ravel’s G major piano concerto with the Gorton Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also taken part in classes with several distinguished pianists, including Ronan O’Hara, Bernard Roberts, Kathryn Stott and Alexander Melnikov. During her years as a student at the Royal Northern College of Music Andrea enjoyed teaching piano privately, with her students ranging from young beginners to advanced adults. Following her graduation in 2005, Andrea has pursued her passion for teaching, both privately and in joining Cheshire-based organisation Music for Life. Andrea is a member of the European Piano Teachers’ Association.
