Rachel Jenkins BA, PGCE

Woodwind

From an early age Rachel had a keen interest in music – she was aged just 4 when she began playing the keyboard. Since these formative years she has gained grade 8 in flute, clarinet and saxophone, developing a real passion for music and a desire for it to become a full time career.

Having chosen to continue her musical studies, but with a keen interest in the educational aspects of music, Rachel completed her degree in Music and Education Studies at Keele University and has subsequently completed a Music PGCE at MMU. One of her personal achievements was performing onstage with Sir James Galway.

She teaches flute, clarinet and saxophone and has a remarkable 100% exam success rate to date. Rachel has a warm and caring approach to pupils wanting to receive tuition and has a wide experience, including teaching pupils with a range of physical disabilities and learning difficulties.
