Steve started playing the piano when he was seven and the French horn and organ at twelve. After completing his studies at Huddersfield School of Music and Bretton Hall teacher training college, he started teaching in North Wales. Together with instrumental teaching, his present work includes arranging music for various choral and small instrumental groups; accompanying soloists, ensembles and choirs, both locally and nationally; and he is Musical Director of one of the North West’s top operatic groups, Dee & Alyn G&S Society. Steve is also Organist and Director of music at St. James’ Parish Church, Christleton. Previous appointments include: – Assistant Director of Music and accompanist for Mold Choral Society, Director of Music for Chester College and Cantamus Choir, plus accompanist for Chester Music Society Youth Choir. He has worked with the B.B.C. Philharmonic Orchestra, conductor Martin Yates and stars from the West End stage, also working with B.B.C. Radio; Ch4; S4C and Granada Television.
