Jon was born in 1968 and educated at Wolverhampton Grammar School. His first public performance was in 1979 at Wolverhampton Civic Hall. Following this he toured France, Belgium, Holland, Germany & Yugoslavia as a member of the Wolverhampton Youth Orchestra and Concert Band. In 1990 he gained an honours degree in Creative Arts from Crewe & Alsager College and became a peripatetic string teacher working full-time in Cheshire schools and playing as a freelance Violin / Viola player. Jon is also a founder member of the Liadon Ensemble (formed 1990), a contemporary music group whose music has been widely used by dance and theatre companies and which has recorded 2 albums. He recently recorded a CD of music for solo electric violin and another CD of music for electric violin and guitar with guitarist Gary Hickey. He plays as leader of the Salford Symphony Orchestra, conducts of the Romulus Singers and is a member of “Sine Nomine” International Touring Choir, who this year performed as a guest choir at the renowned Three Choirs Festival. Jon has been working with Music for Life over the last four years and has built a reputaion as one of the finest violin teachers in Cheshire.
