Jane studied at the Royal College of Music gaining her Teaching and Performing Diplomas as well as winning an Exhibition scholarship and the Boughton oboe prize. She is currently a member of the Northern Chamber Orchestra and freelances throughout the UK and abroad. Jane has recorded for radio and TV including ‘Foyles War’ and her cor anglais playing can be heard as Bilbo and Frodo sail off into the sunset at the end of ‘Lord of the Rings, Return of the King’. Jane is a busy and experienced teacher. She is oboe teacher at both Liverpool and Liverpool Hope Universities as well as teaching privately at her home in Neston and at several schools in Cheshire and Liverpool. Jane is keen to promote the oboe and bassoon which are classed as the rarer instruments of the woodwind section. Her most recent claim to fame is in one school where she has 12 oboe students, there are more oboes in the junior windband than clarinets!!
