Catherine began playing the piano aged just 4 on a mini one-octave piano! She worked her way through music grades whilst at school in Chester and achieved Grade 8 Piano 12 years later when she started teaching pupils privately. Catherine went on to study at the University of York where she gained a First Class Honours Degree in Psychology BSc, specialising in child learning and  development. Catherine then went on to gain her PGCE at Manchester Metropolitan University qualifying as a primary school teacher and taught a range of classes both core and music national curriculum subjects before joining music for life. During her general primary teaching Catherine led school music clubs and choirs, taking children to Young Voices concerts and other music events year on year. Heading in to her 3rd year with music for life, Catherine now teaches one-to-one piano, keyboard, guitar and ukulele and enjoys leading whole-class music projects in her schools across Cheshire and Middlewich where she lives now.
