Amanda Keeley B Ed

Strings

Amanda was Head of Strings for Wirral Music Service for many years and was also Head of Wallasey Music Centre and Musical Director of the Wirral String Orchestra for 25 years. She took this orchestra on over 20 continental concert tours, performing in many prestigious venues and also conducted them at the Royal Festival Hall, Bridgwater Hall and annually at The Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
As well as her teaching commitments Amanda is a freelance violinist, and performs regularly for the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral Orchestra. She has a quartet which performs for weddings and other occasions. Amanda has worked for the Open University and Trinity Guildhall as a mentor for their CPD programme, and was on the original working group devising the ABRSM Music medals. Amanda is now training to be an ABRSM examiner. Although Amanda very much enjoys conducting and performing, her teaching role is still very important. She enjoys nurturing young talent, and many of her students have entered conservatoire training. One of her viola students is now principal viola of the RPO.
