6th July: Helsby Area Celebration

Once again, Music for Life has teamed up with Helsby High School to offer an exciting day of music making. Primary pupils from schools in the area in Y5 and 6 will be invited to a series of workshops working alongside Helsby High School students on Thursday 6th July and will perform whatever is achieved in an evening concert. The workshops are offered free of charge, but we would be delighted to welcome any young musician of an appropriate standard to come along. All local schools will have information about this event from early June. Tickets to the concert will be £4 and will be available on the door. The concert will start at 7pm.

The idea is to inspire young musicians, many of whom may be quite new to learning their instrument. Workshops are designed to be fun, motivational, build confidence and achieve success.

Music for Life is offering 2 workshops during the day.

A Band Workshop suitable for any child who has been learning any of the following instruments for around a year or more: violin, recorder, cello, clarinet, flute, saxophone, trumpet, cornet, tenor horn, baritone horn, euphonium, trombone.

Singing Workshop open to anybody where children will get to perform accompanied by a live, professional rhythm section of drums, bass guitar, keyboard.

There will also be a guitar workshop open to Music for Life students by invitation only. Letters will go out to parents to inform them of this.
